I didn't play Vanquish but Bayonetta did have a terrible story.
Metal Gear Rising, however has the benefit of being in the Metal Gear universe. That means that is has the benefit of 1)already having an awesome story behind it, and 2)having Kojima there to tell the story himself or at least to say "this crap won't work, try again."
P.S.
Its story sucked, but Bayonetta did everything else correctly. I didn't even mind ...
Bayonetta is great. Although I have to disagree with it being the most in-depth hack-n-slash this gen. That award still goes to Ninja Gaiden (any one of them).
Well this explains why we haven't seen Bayonetta 2.
This game may be Metal Gear, but its not 'Solid'.
I'll still buy it though unless I hear very bad things about it. I like hack and slash. I loved Bayonetta even though I had to buy it on 360. I really loved Metal Gear Solid. Putting the two together has to work, especially if Kojima-san is to make sure it is up to standard.
This game is being made for the Metal Gear S...
Well, I'm interested.
Day 1, Pre-order, Midnight Release
I need to see it in motion. I am a hardcore Ninja Gaiden Fanatic so I am going to get the game one day one pre-order regardless.
Those screen shots look really good. I hope they aren't bullshots. I'm there on the first day anyway.
Portal 2, Syrim, GTA IV, better than MGS...No Way in hell.
I thought FF13 was good, it wasn't as good as what I expected given the vision I got from its trailers. Moreover there was no Role-playing in it. Still it was good enough for me to buy the sequel.
I wonder what is going to be the difference between the PS3 version and the 360 version. Famistu no doubt reviewed the PS3 version. I can't see how FF13 will be significantly more open without significant downgrades. If 13-2 is indeed more open than the original 13, th...
The only game that I do agree with is Call of Duty. Activision is better off with a Call of Duty every year. The industry is better off if Call of Duty is released every other year.
I talk to lots of young gamers who don't know anything about video games other than Call of Duty. They don't know any other game. What's worse is that they don't get to experience any other game because they spend their time playing Call of Duty, and every year there is a new...
Black Friday was one week ago. There is no way that VGChartz has the numbers that quickly. They are making this up.
Used sales haven't been promoted? That's not right. Entire industries are built around second-hand product sales. Real-Estate agents, used car salesmen, stock brokers, all exist to sell second hand products.
There are more players here than publishers. The industry needs all of them to survive. Each party has to do what is in its own best interest. The publisher do that; Gamestop does that; the developer try to do that (sometimes they are too stupid to know what...
A new released game may cost $60 new and $55 used. However you can get back $25 - $30 if sell back a newly released game to Gamestop, so it balances out. The big retailers will often have 1 - 2 year old games still listed at $60. Plus they take lots of games off the shelf aftet a year or two.
I just bought Final Fantasy X about 3 months ago. That's right, FF10. I was able to do that because Gamestop makes a market in used games. I paid $28 for FF13 about 8 months ...
@Captain Qwark
You think that Crackdown, Alan Wake and Too Human were half-assed efforts. I thought that they were major efforts.
Wasn't Alan Wake was in develop for 4 or 5 years? I think the fact that Alan Wake on sold what it sold is evidence of the 360 users' preference. Alan Wake was good. It should have sold more.
Dark-hollow is right.
Used sales exist in all walks of life. Used cars, used houses, used furniture, some people even buy used clothes. But now, all of a sudden, I am supposed to believe that used sales are the bain of my existence. I call BS.
On of the first lessons in economics is about efficient markets. Consumers benefit from more efficient markets. Wall Street exists because the efficient trading in used stocks allows more people and thus more money ...
I don't want Kojima to stop making Metal Gear Games. However Kojima should do what normally does. There was nothing wrong with the games he makes. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If he would normally do a different project now and wait for inspiration before he does a Metal Gear Game, then he should do that. If he would normally start on the next Metal Gear on a specific date no matter how feels, then he should do that.
Except that Uncharted 1, 2, and 3 have been 100% perfect for me. Although I should say that I am only 90% complete on Uncharted 3, but so far I have yet to experience a single flaw. Its more uncanny than the X-men.
The entire series has been perfect in my experience. I haven't had a dropped frame, a slow-down, a screen tear, a glitch, or an in-game loading screen in 3 games. I don't mean almost none; mean none, 0, goose-egg, zip, zilch, nada. I mean 0.00% with ...
The quality can't be as good as MGS4 if it is multi-plat.
Indeed, the service of killing someone's wife for them is so valuable that no price is high enough to be just compensation.
